Additives
Additives

In order to avoid adhesion of the film layers to each other or in a roll anti-blocking additives are used during the production of films; they increase the film’s resistance to blocking (adhesion). These additives may be made from natural or synthetic materials causing different effects and having different fractions; in order to fulfill different client’s needs, a different amount of active material may be used for the production of anti-blocking additives. These additives are widely used in the production of films because of their high effectiveness and their easy incorporation in the production processes of various thickness and transparency films.

Cleaning additives are used for a rapid cleaning of extrusion or casting equipment, when switching from one polymer to another or from one color to another. These additives will save your time and reduce to the minimum the possible emergence of spoilage. The cleaning additives will clean plastic procession and conversion equipment at the lowest cost.

Fire resistance is a compulsory requirement in the contemporary electric power and electronic industry, construction area and transport sector. Most polymers are inflammable. Observing the fire safety rules, polymers must contain flame retardants, which reduce inflammation probability, and also the spread of the flames during the fire; these flame retardants conform to the highest fire resistance requirements and they must be used in the processes of polymer production where these requirements are set. According to the client’s need or specific product requirements we can select the flame retardant which would be the best for the production process or the product itself.

We offer antifogging additives for the manufacturers of plastic packages and greenhouse films. These are modern additives which prevent moisture or vapors accumulation or water drops condensation on the internal surface of the film.

Anti-slip additives create a micro-rough surface and are used in order to prevent several film layers from slipping on each other. This effect may be achieved using anti-slip additives produced from mineral or synthetic materials, depending on specific client’s needs or product requirements

Antistatic additives are the ones that provide antistatic properties to plastic products, i.e. eliminate the static charge typical to all polymers. Thanks to this additive, production process becomes much easier because the surface resistance and dust accumulation are reduced. There may be slow-migration and long acting antistatic additives, which are mainly developed to create an antistatic effect in final product, and fast-migration and short acting antistatic additives, which are developed to be used and to create effect during the production process. Combined antistatic options are also possible; we will select them according to individual clients’ needs or type of product.

Antioxidant additives are recommended for all production processes. During their conversion, production and storage polymers are under the influence of oxygen existing in the environment. For this reason different polymer properties, such as resistance to impact, color, transparency or even fracture length during break, are affected. Antioxidants help stabilizing polymers as well as guarantee heat stability during polymer processing process.

Foaming additives are the ones that give an opportunity to decrease the weight of polymer product to the minimum. In this way the product gains wider and more various application possibilities.

Antibacterial additives are wide spectrum additives, containing antimicrobial or antibacterial ingredients which exterminate different microorganisms, such as: bacteria, mold, yeasts and give long-term antimicrobial effect.

Moisture absorbing additives are an inherent attendant of recycling sector, which makes recycled raw materials suitable for conversion. With the help of these additives it is possible to eliminate moisture from plastic raw materials easily and economically. Once it is eliminated, the polymer is ready for re-processing.

Transparency additives are very effective additives created according to the newest technologies and used for polypropylene transparency. Due to the use of these additives, mechanical properties of the polypropylene will intensify and conversion temperature will increase. These additives also help to improve visual properties of polypropylene increasing transparency and shine

Slip additives are an irreplaceable material that provides lubricity to the films and other products and in this way reduces the coefficient of friction. We may offer slip additives that provide faster or slower, short-term or long-term effect, as well as select additives that are suitable for using in different temperature processes and various technological processes.

Thanks to these new generation additives which were specially developed to be used in production of different qualities products obtained during the same process, the production time will be reduced significantly. According to the client’s task or product requirements we may select the additive that suits to the production process or product best or deliver particular components and combined additives of particular proportions.

There are a few aspects that must be taken into account when it comes to environment friendly plastics. One of them is when additives, due to which plastic decomposes within a short period of time and does not cause long-term pollution, are used during the production. These are so-called biodegradable plastics in the production of which biodegradable additives are used. These additives are new generation additives that are safe for human health, therefore can be used in products that have direct contact with food.

Process stabilizer is an integrate part of modern technologies. They are also called plastic procession optimizers or processing aids. These additives allow achieving better product quality within a shorter processing time and minimum input. Using process stabilizer you will achieve smoother, more even and glossier product surface, because this additive reduces or eliminates superficial product defects (especially in films), and also reduces torque in the extruder, allows processing very viscous polymers, reduces or helps to avoid sedimentation in manufacturing equipment during the process. They also reduce friction between equipment parts in this way reducing electricity demand.

Additives absorbing UV waves provide a very simple way to protect plastic materials from harmful ultraviolet waves, turning them into thermal energy. They are easily used and highly effective in products that are thicker than 100 microns.

Different laboratory researches and long-term practice has shown that additives are necessary for the stabilization of ultraviolet (UV) waves in order to protect the polymers from damage induced by exposure to direct or indirect sunlight. UV stabilizers perfectly neutralize damaging ultraviolet waves, stopping the changes in polymer color, mechanical and physical properties. We offer a wide range of these additives, which may be used both in very thin and thick polymer products.

Plastics

Commodity plastics are easily formed into complex forms; they are characterized by high thermal stability, good electricity and heat insulation properties, and they are resistant to deformation under load (PE, PP, PS, EVA etc.)

Technical plastics are the ones characterized by strength and durability; they are mostly used in the automotive and construction sectors (ABS, POM, SAN, PC, etc.).

We also offer: Polyvinylchloride (PVC), Poly-butylene terephthalate (PBT), Poly-methyl methacrylate (PMMA), Polyamide (PA)

HDPE - high density polyethylene. It is one of the cheapest and most functional materials. This material is very strong and durable, but less elastic compared to other types of polyethylene. LLDPE – linear low density polyethylene. Possible conversion: moulding, extrusion and forming, film production by blow moulding. LDPE – low density polyethylene. Used for moulding, extrusion or forming, as well as for the production of film materials by blow moulding. MDPE – medium density polyethylene, containing the best properties both of LDPE and

EVA is a copolymer which has high indicators of water and gas impermeability. If it contains little vinyl acetate, it is attributed to the group of high pressure polyethylene. If it contains more vinyl acetate, the material elasticity increases, the degree of crystallization and fusion temperature decrease, the resistance to technical oils and lubricants increases.

This material is characterized by very low friction coefficient, elasticity, and resistance to weariness and strength, tightness, resistance to impact even under the influence of low temperature. This physiologically inert material also possesses good slip properties and is easily mechanically processed and colored. Due to the stability of dimensions, polyacetal is suitable for the production of precise mechanical parts. Parts made from POM can be marked with a laser and welded with the help of ultrasound. We offer the following types of POM: • POM – general purpose polyacetal; • Combined POM - filled with talc or chalk, etc., strengthened with fiberglass or glass granules, etc.

Polypropylene is a strong, flexible polymer with good dielectric properties. Compared to polyethylene (PE), it is harder and stronger, has a higher processing temperature. Polypropylene is physiologically safe therefore it is used in the production of plastic containers for chemical reagents, in food industry and medicine, for packaging materials, etc. We offer the following types of PP: • PPH – homopolymer, made from propylene molecules only; • PPC – copolymer and PPR – “random” copolymer, made from the mixture of propylene and other; • Combined PP – filled with talc or chalk, etc., and strengthened with fiberglass or glass granules, etc.

Polycarbonate is a clear polymer, with high resistance to impact, wide spectrum of processing temperatures (from -100 to 115-130 ˚С), mechanical strength, good dielectric properties and resistance to radiation.

ABS is characterized by resistance to impact and scratch, excellent surface quality of the moulded parts, simple processing, therefore it is frequently used in the production of carcass technical details. We offer the following types of ABS: • ABS GP – general purpose acrylonitrile butadiene styrene; • ABS HI – increased resistance acrylonitrile butadiene styrene; • ABS HF – increased density acrylonitrile butadiene styrene; • ABS HR – increased resistance to heat acrylonitrile butadiene styrene; • ABS/PC – fusion of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polycarbonate; • Combined ABS - filled with talc or chalk, etc., strengthened with fiberglass or glass granules, etc.

It is a widely spread polymer, characterized by very glossy surface, resistance to chemical materials and it is physiologically safe. However, compared to PP and PE it is fragile and less resistant to cold. We offer the following types of PS: • GPPS – completely clear general purpose polystyrene; • HIPS – white, milk shade color, resistant to impact polystyrene; • Combined PS – filled with talc or chalk, etc., strengthened with fiberglass or glass granules, etc.; • EPS – expanded polystyrene.

SAN is an optically transparent material. Compared to others it is more durable and firm. SAN is more resistant to the impact of chemical materials and UV waves in comparison to polystyrene; it is also more resistant to decomposition in boiling water.

Fillers

Fillers are widely used in different polymer production processes, such as pipe, film and other products production. These are calcium carbonate or talc concentrates, which can be an excellent solution for the production of cheaper, though high quality products. Fillers may have different fractions and loading. They do not cause dusting, and they are safe and easy to use. According to the client’s needs or product requirements we may select the filler that suits best for each production process or product.

Talc – magnesium silicate. Talc is a basic ingredient for non-organic additives, which are characterized by anti-blocking properties and acts as a strengthener, reinforcer – reinforces and improves physical-mechanical properties of the product and gives resistance to impact. According to the client’s needs or product requirements we may select the talc that is best for the production process or product.

Chalk (calcium carbonate) is exceptionally white and soft non-organic material, processed according to modern technologies. It is used in the production of non-organic type additives, characterized by strength, providing anti-blocking properties; it is also used to create whitish effect. Chalk is used for filling of polyolefins and improvement of their properties during processing. However, the main purpose of using chalk is the reduction of production price. Apart from cost reduction, this additive eliminates distortion, sediment, effect of stretch. It gave very positive results in film production.
